Welcome to Bamcatshop.com! Thanks for being here as I embark on my newest venture as a small business owner, showcasing my illustrative and handmade products all in a new,
easy-to-navigate space.
2015 has been an incredible year so far. Not only have I been fortunate to show my artwork across several states, but I also won an Honorable Mention from the Annual 3X3 Competition for my textile designs. With this encouragement, and after buying a decent new sewing machine in October of 2014, I knew I wanted to make my handmade business dreams come true. Through over a year of practice and learning new techniques, I worked out some of my favorite patterns for soft handbags and pouches. I sourced materials from local, USA vendors that stood for function and craft, such as cotton and canvas. I took a handmade business master class (taught by The Merriweather Council) and nailed down what I would want from my products, including quality, purpose,
and aesthetic plus function.
On top of it all, this summer, Allison Bamcat became a registered small business in Massachusetts, making it official! My handmade goods worked the craft fair scene this summer, and we're looking forward to the Chrismukkah Holiday Fair this year in the SOWA District of Boston, from December 4-6. I'll have brand new, holiday-themed designs available at that fair and in this shop once they're
proofed and stitched up! I can't wait to share them with you!
